Can you please click on “Have a different adobe ID” link and then sign in again with his ID and Password? This should fetch the new subscription on the machine and probably resolves the issue.
If this does not work, please get oobelib.log, amt3.log , PDApp.log from %temp% folder and also password reset permission for the same so that we can look into what exactly is the error response returned by server.
