That's been my experience as well. While some of the proprietary camera setting info will not be applied or utilized  by Lr/ACR ... identical results will occur with identical profiles and settings between proprietary RAW files and their DNG counterparts.

 

I also agree there are many good and valid reasons for whether or not to convert native RAW files to DNG, though, the finished results difference between file types is not one of them.

 

I don't convert to DNG until after a job is complete and delivered. It stalls the workflow to wait for conversion when working on strict deadlines. If I had the option to save DNG in camera, I probably would use it.
