Hi folks,
I'm sorry we haven't answered in this thread before now. Both hyperlinks and styling are on our radar, but most recently the team has been working on support for new features for Muse CC 2014.2, which will be released pretty soon. If you are a participant in the private beta, you can check out the new In-Browser Editing features right now. Additionally, we've put a lot of time and effort into making In-Browser Editing more reliable for different ISP's and FTP configurations. If you weren't experiencing these problems, it's probably of small consolation - but for users who were, it's essential.
Regarding hyperlinks - they are next up on our radar for improvements. I don't have a definite timeframe, but we will get the editing of hyperlinks out within the next several months at the very latest. We are also considering styling, but we don't have a specific design for that yet. What users want in that regard is really widely varied, and in many cases in direct conflict with what other users want. Our user research team is working on this right now and we'll implement something when we know what to do - probably in the first half of next year.
Regards,
Nathan
Nathan,
As your consumers and client we take in consideration the understanding of the demand and the need to be progressively developing the Muse software. However, one thing I am concerned about is the mere fact that the need for an improved editor is "merely" on the radar. This request is a major foundational piece needed within the framework of Muse. I am not sure what your team saw ahead of the curve but I would have easily assumed it would be to provide a breakthrough software with the necessary elements to make it successful from back end to front end.
If you all would put the need for a more robust site editor ahead of everything as a priority it would make huge advance for us, you have no idea! Forget all the extra bells & whistles right now. What you have currently is more than enough to build great sites. It's the basic functionality we need in place. I mean read "Frontup Design" and their comment. It's ridiculous that their client is having to ask them to change the color of a word.
Personally I am having to make my clients buy Muse because they cannot perform the simplest of tasks with their website like, hyperlinking, changing text color, weight, size, underlining, etc. This is absurd! Please do more than tell us that you all do not have a definite time frame and that you cannot come up with a specific design, etc. A good solid meeting with your current data in hand from us of what we are needing would be an easy task for your team to accomplish. It's not like we are asking for a breakthrough editor. We just need one and we need it in less than several months, we need it in the next update. Please!!!
Thank You,
Ryan
