I was referring to the Narration Tool that is found in Premiere Elements for creating narration clips
within the project. After the narration recording is completed in Premiere Elements, the .wav narration is placed on the Timeline at the spot where the
Timeline Indicator is placed. See Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO when it comes to assuring Input Output enabled.
Premiere Elements' Narration Tool feature should recognize a microphone that uses a computer jack connection. If you go for a microphone that uses a USB connection, then you are in for try this try that.
A USB microphone is likely to work for you if you create the narrations in Audacity. If you create your narration in a program such as Audacity, attach your USB microphone to the computer, open Audacity, create your narration as a .wav file, but then you need to import that .wav file into the Premiere Elements project.
From what you wrote, the Premiere Elements Narration Tool way is probably the preferred way. What version of Premiere Elements are you currently
using? I would suggest that you look at the desktop microphones with the computer jack connections and determine if they give you the quality of
sound needed for your Premiere Elements projects. They should be less expensive and could be just as effective for your purposes.
