I have to say that Adobe's Photographer pricing got me to permanently switch to Photoshop CC. It's not real easy to learn but it is quite powerful and there are many videos available. People seem to have a mistaken idea that the program runs "in the cloud" on Adobe's servers and not on their computer, not correct. There have been some great changes and some irritating ones, like moving things around and a few other issues, but it is worth it. I'll give it a thumbs up. Yes, if you want updates you need to go with CC.
