and what do you mean your auto save is not working? With your project settings, your auto save set to 'same as project'? And the Auto Save folder there is not full of auto save versions?
One thing I notice with PP 2014 8.1.0 (8.1) Build is a default setting (in my sequence settings anyway) is the bottom line - Composite in Linear Color (requires GPU acceleration or max render quality) is checked. I have been unchecking that lately as it saved me waiting for a bunch of spinning cursors once - not that I don't wait for stuff to happen any more, but it saved me a few seconds once (maybe still does). So, why I mention that is, yours might be checked also - and with your video card, why not try 'unchecking' it?
As for the Open GL driver error - seems to me I have smelled that one before and just can't relink my memory back to it.
