I am new to Illustrator and I just downloaded a free trial version of the program today. I opened the program, created a new file, chose letter size, left everything else default, but when the blank page opened there was a strange white space between the workspace and the rest of the typical UI (see images). I get this every time I create a new file.
I cannot scale the inner workspace to fill this space, and when I pull the workspace window out of the UI frame, the white space persists. While it is windowed, I can scale the window as a whole, but the white space remains. I know it looks like I should be able to scale the inner workspace window to fill the space, but I cannot click on the bottom right box between the scroll bars. No icon comes up when I mouse over this square, and nothing happens when I click and drag it.
Is this a bug or is there some strange setting I am just not aware of?
Thanks
